Day 1: Keng Tung city tour (L, D)
Morning - Pick you up from Chaingrai airport and transfer you to Mae Sai Immigration office.
12.00Have lunch at San Lhoi Mhaung Tai restaurant .gif) in Pyak province before continueing the tour and seeing beautiful landscape along the way such as rice terrace, hill tribe villages and comparing nice local people lifestyle like a nurse and student uniforms, novices playing sepak takraw or riding a bicycle, etc.
14.00 Check in at Princess hotel or equivalent, experience the panorama elegant scenery of Keng Tung city at the view point. See the giant rubber plant (the stronghold of Keng Tung). Enjoy walking across the wooden and rope bridge.
15.00 Pay respect to the giant pointing buddha image, the symbol of Keng Tung at Jomsak temple . Its base indicates history of the Buddha and how the Buddha's relics transfered to this temple.
16.00 Visit Jomkum temple which enshrines a number of principle Shan style Buddha images. Here you will see young novices studying buddhist doctrine at the side of the temple. Walk to front of temple fetch Kao Vong (Kyaing Tung donut) Event it is not mouthwatering but actually very tasty.
17.00 Return to your hotel and relax.
18.00 Enjoy your dinner ,then take a walk around Nong Tung , huge lake at the center of Keng Tung city, the teenagers meeting point. They will enjoy eating Korean style BBQ and talking. Not only local restaurants and coffee shops there, but also discotechs and a skating play ground. ( Please prepare a torch light since the electricity around the lake will stop working after 9.00 pm..) |
Day 2 : Doi Muey & hot spring (B, L, D)
8.00 Breakfast at the hotel. Head off to Doi Muey , the highest mountian of Keng Tung. Take a walk across the wooden bridge to see the beauty of Nong Doi muey Lake where is surrounded by high mountains. Then visit the former British army camp,built in 1945 when British took over Myanmar. The camp still remains in good condition. Very classic and fantastic with the combination between western and Shan style architectural structure. At the present, it becomes the head office of Myanmar army. Before we leave, stop by at the local market in the village where Sakura wine is for sell in the winter.
11.00 Back for lunch in the city.
13.00 Visit Chiang Tong hot spring which you can take a mineral bathing and try weird native food such as giant grup fried or golden preserved eggs then back to your hotel and relax.
17.30 Travel to Wat Tirasin Jong to pay your respect to Buddhist nun. Unlike nun in other Buddhist countries, they dress in pink. Unseen in Myanmar.
18.30 Dinner at Pan-ka-Par restaurant, which serves Thai and Chinese food.

Day 3 : Morning Market & Tha Keelek (B, L)
8.00 Breakfast at your hotel.Check out and take a walk to Keng Tung morning market. You will be surprised and excited in seeing snacks such as Roti Ong or Hnam Pia, Indian pancake with Tea or Coffee and goods being sold by different races of people. Then travel to Wat Maha Miaya Munee , the only one temple in the world that locates at the middle of intersection.
Then back to Tha Khelek, Thai – Myanmar border.
12.00 Stop for lunch at Ta Duar market.
14.00 Arrive at Tha Khelek. Stop for a short break to buy some souvenirs at the border.
Then transfer you to Chiang Rai airport with impression. |

Thailand Re-entry Permit
If you plan to re-enter Thailand on your existing visa. For example - if you enter Thailand on a single entry tourist visa and want to make a side trip to Myanmar and want to re-enter Thailand on your tourist visa, you would have to obtain a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand.
There are two types of re-entry permits :
1) Single re-entry permit - As the name suggests, this permit allows you to re-enter Thailand only once. The duration of the permit is the same as your existing Thai visa. The fee for this permit is 1000 THB.
2) Multiple re-entry permit - This permit allows you to re-enter Thailand as long as your visa is valid. The fee for this permit is 3800 THB.
Re-entry permits can be obtained at the airport, other immigration checkpoints or at the immigration department office in the city. (Soi Suan Plu in Bangkok).
