Tuesday: Chiang Mai temples tour (L, D)
Morning - Arrive at Chiangmai airport, head off to Wat Umong , the forest monastery which has a lot of Buddhist philosophy pictures and a long tunnel as a pagoda's base.
11.00 Visit Wat Chediluang where the most largest pagoda of Chiangmai is situated. The temple was built up in B.E.1954. Later in the reign of Princess Jiraprapa, in the year B.E.2008, the upper pagoda collapsed after an earthquake. At the entrance of the main Vicharn (Chapel), there is a pair of beautiful crawling Phya Naka sculptures staircase, entwining their tails to make the arch of the entrance door. They were cast by the old famous artisans of Chiang Mai and become the most beautiful PhyaNaka sculptures in the north.
12.00 Have lunch at a local restaurant.
13.00 Visit Wat Pra Sing voraviharn , one of the most important and visible temples in the center of Chiangmai. The temple has a wooden small chapel called Viharn Laikam. It is the home for the revered Pra Buddha Sihing Buddha image, which is carried in a parade along the roads of the town to celebrate Songkran Day, a new year's eve of Thai people. It is held in the mid of April every year. In the Viharn Laikam, there is also a very fantastical mural. It was painted due to the competition between Lanna Thai and Krung Sri Ayuthya artists. The patterns of painting show the life styles of people in the past.
14.00 Head off to Wat Suan Dok to learn Buddhism. Do the monk chat about Intoduction to Buddhism.
16.30 Go to Meditation Center . After taking a short break to purify your mind. Continue the meditating lesson.
18.00 Have dinner.
18.45 Chanting and sitting meditation.
20.00 Personal affairs and hygiene.
20.15 Keep practicing meditation.
21.00 Return to your room to rest with your peaceful mind.

Wednesday: Meditation Practise (B, L, D)
5.00 Get up and hygiene.
8.30 Chanting, morning exercise and meditating.
7.00 Giving alms to Monk and having breakfast.
8.30 Dhamma Talk ( Buddhism).
10.00 Resting and meditating.
11.30 Making merit by offering articles to monk and have a lunch break.
14.00 Leave Wat Suan Dok for Chiangmai Gate hotel or equivalent. Resting.
19.00 Participate in a Yoka course to do an exercise for awaken your body and mind.
20.00 Dinner and rest.

Thursday: Home Industries & hot spring (B)
8.00 Travel to Wat Prathat Doisuthep where is a holy monastery of Chiangmai. It is a must for every tourist to visit. If one missed it, it means that he or she has never been to Chiangmai yet.
11.00 Visit Borsang - San Kampheang village in genuine cottage industries to produce a wide range of quality which number among the most popular souvenirs. Such as wood craving, silverware, lacquerware, leather, pottery, silk and cotton weaving.
Afternoon - Take you to the air port and leave Chiang Mai with impression. |
